Brief Bio: Esther Nana Animah holds MPhil Seed Science and Technology from the West Africa Center for Crop Improvement (WACCI), University of Ghana, Accra and BSc Agriculture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. She is passionate and enthusiastic about educating farmers on the need to grow quality seeds and advocating for the availability of these quality seeds to the ordinary farmer in Ghana. She is interested in using various techniques like hot water and acetic acid to screen crops genotypes for heat and drought tolerance; this will help Breeders in their breeding program. Also, testing of seed samples to ensure that seeds leaving the Institute are of high quality.

Animah has worked on the CARE Cocoa life project as a service person in the Amansie West District, Ashanti Region. She was one of the Facilitators for the Exposure and Dialogue Leadership Training of Decision Makers and Managers from Germany and Ghana with Cocoa Farmers from 2017 to 2019. She is a member of the CSIR-Research Staff Association.

Her career goal is to be well equipped with knowledge in Seed Science and Technology through research, learning and practice; this will help her contribute towards food and nutritional security in Ghana and the world at large.
