Research Interest:
Research programs focused on improving rice, yam, and maize yield and resilience through innovative agronomic practices, nutrient management strategies, genetically modified crop experiments, and climate-smart technologies. His work contributes to the development of high-yielding, stress-tolerant rice and other crop varieties and the optimization of fertilizer use to improve soil fertility and crop performance

Dr. Charles Afriyie-Debrah is actively involved in capacity-building efforts, collaborating with farmers, policymakers, and research institutions to promote best practices in rice and other crops production. His research outputs have informed policy and technological interventions aimed at enhancing food security and agricultural productivity in Ghana.
His dedication to scientific excellence and innovation continues to shape the future of rice production, making significant contributions to the agricultural sector in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Afriyie-Debrah has travelled and has attended several conferences, workshops, and training programmes in many countries around the world. He has authored, co-authored, and reviewed over twenty (28) scientific publications, comprising refereed journal papers and conference papers, including publications in highly rated international journals. Additionally, He has trained interns and students and supervised graduate students from the universities. He is currently the vice president of the CSIR-CRI branch of the Research Staff Association of Ghana. He is a dedicated Christian and is married with three kids.
