Brief Bio:

Ms. Hagar Assan was employed as an Administrative Assistant at the Crops Research Institute, Kumasi-Ghana in the year 2002 with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretaryship and Management Studies. She rose through the ranks to Principal Administrative Officer on the 1st July, 2024. 

Her core administrative roles include performance management (Appraisals), training and promotions, the next in command in the absence of the Head of Administration. As part of her current administrative experiences, Ms. Assan serves as a College Administrator for the Department of Plant Resource Development, CSIR- College of Science and Technology, Fumesua, from December 2021 to date.

Her duties comprise planning and organizing Viva Voce Presentation before graduation, liaising with the Departmental Head during graduation, working on student transcripts, and assisting with graduation-related tasks. She also registers new students into the college and other duties that will be assigned by the Head of Department. Ms. Assan serves as a sectional head for the Estate Section, CSIR-CRI, Fumesua, Ghana from the year 2022 to date. She serves as an immediate supervisor for all staff in the section and prepares the work plan for the section to guide and improve performance and output delivery.

Additionally, she collaborates with the Head of Administration Division on staff assignments and scheduling. She supervises and monitors the activities of staff in the section. As an Associate Member, she currently holds a Professional Membership Qualification with the Institute of Chartered Human Resource Management Practitioners on the 29th December, 2024. Ms. Assan has served on a number of committees like Change Management Committee, Training and Promotion Committee, End of Year Committee and others. She is the founder of the CRI choir and the first female to be an Administrative Officer, Senior Admin. Officer and Principal Administrative Officer at the CRI.

Indeed, she models the core values of the institute and Corporate CSIR as a whole and she can adequately represent the Institute at the public front. Her profile is remarkable and praiseworthy.
