CORAF’s Business Development Manager pays a working visit to CSIR-Crops Research Institute
The Business Development Manager for the West and Central African Council for Agriculture Research and Development (CORAF) visited the CSIR-Crops Research Institute on Thursday, 16th May, 2024 at its Training Center to discuss potential collaboration with other stakeholders in scaling the Institute’s developed technologies.
The meeting that brought together Project leaders, Agriculture Technology Park Managers and other Scientists of the Institute aimed to provide an overview of the Innovation, Research, Extension and Advisory Coordination Hub (iREACH) initiatives and a forum for interaction. It also explored how the Institute’s projects and initiatives can support iREACH in scaling their technologies.
Opening remarks
In his welcome remarks, Dr. Ernest Baafi, Deputy Director of the CSIR-CRI, urged the attendees to participate in the conversation to ensure the success of the iREACH project.
The Development manager, Dr. Jonas Osei-Adu in his presentation, disclosed that the iREACH strategic framework is supported by five (5) primary strategic pillars. These foundations are as follows:
- Partnership and Business Development
- Gender Integration and Mainstreaming
- Effective Communication and Knowledge Management
- Effective Implementation and
- Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
Participants engaged in some discussions about how best to sustain the iREACH project after the presentation.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Osei Adu noted that the project was about bringing diverse players together. He asked scientists to organize Open Field days and invite stakeholders who can invest in their technologies.
