CSIR-CRI PLANTS MAIZE TO SUPPORT RETIRED STAFF
Good endeavors are a force that drive every organisation and one that deserves applause must be shared with the world.
The Director of CSIR-CRI, Prof. Moses Branford Mochiah, has initiated a project to support all staff of the institute who will retiring from the service henceforth.
Public servants dedicate many years of their life to serving their organizations and deserve befitting send off packages when retirement finally comes around.
Dubbed, “CSIR-CRI Plants for the Retired’, the initiative involves planting acres of land to improved crop varieties which will be managed by staff of the Institute. Proceeds from the harvest will be directed towards providing befitting send-off packages for retiring staff each year.
The first harvest from the project was done on 14th August, 2022 when an 11-acre field which was planted to an improved variety of maize, CRI-Abontem was harvested by all staff of the Institute.
Clad in casual outfits and boots, staff of the Institute, led by the Director himself, happily engaged in the activity and harvested the maize together.
Prof Mochiah admonished staff to fully commit to the initiative as it is a sure way of ensuring that retirees would be honoured at the end of every year.
