TOT WORKSHOP ON YAM PRODUCTION IN PROGRESS AT CSIR-CRI
A TOT workshop on ‘lmproved techniques for rapid multiplication/production and dissemination of high quality yam planting materials and management of tuber rot disease’ is being held at CSIR-Crops Research Institute (CSIR-CRI) at Fumesua.
The Ashanti Regional Research-Extension Linkage Committee is organising the workshop under the auspices of Modernising Agriculture in Ghana programme.
Director of CSIR-CRI, Prof. M.B. Mochiah, in his welcome address, asked the participants to demonstrate commitment to the training in order to benefit from it.
Kumasi Metro Director of Agriculture, Paul Amoh Korang, who represented the Ashanti Regional Director of Agriculture, thanked the Regional RELC Coordinator – Dr. Ernest Baafi and deputy, Gregory Osei Bonsu for organising the workshop, which seeks to address inadequate planting materials of yam as emerged from the 2021 planning session.
Prof Emmanuel Otoo and Jerry Fenteng Asamoah are facilitators of the training.
