Brief Bio:
Dr. Kirpal Agyemang Ofosu is a Rice Breeder at CSIR-Crops Research Institute, Ghana. He holds a PhD in Crop Science (Plant Breeding) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He also holds an MSc. Agronomy (Plant Breeding) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana and BSc. Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast.
His current focus is on breeding for resistance to rice biotic stresses (Rice yellow mottle disease and rice blast disease), as well as breeding for high yield and good grain quality traits in rice. He is also involved in the use of molecular tools in rice breeding to accelerate genetic gain.
