Brief Bio: Ernestina Narveh Awarikabey joined the Entomology and Biocontrol Section of CSIR-Crops Research Institute in 2021 after obtaining both her Bachelors and Masters’ first and degrees from the University of Cape Coast (U.C.C.) in Ghana; specializing in the study of tephritid fruit flies.
Ernestina is a field-oriented entomologist with experience in fruit fly identification and integrated pest management strategies. She is also equipped with communication and people skills and has the ability to facilitate training sessions. Ernestina is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Entomology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and is also part of the Ghana National Fruit Fly Committee and the International Union for the Study of Social Insects(IUSSI).
Her career goal is to be well equipped with knowledge that will enable her contribute positively towards food security in the field of Entomology through research, learning and practice. She is passionate and motivated with a drive for excellence.
