LEAVING A LEGACY: DISSEMINATING THE OUTPUTS OF THE RECIRCULATE PROJECT
The GCRF funded RECIRCULATE Project has for the past 5 years engaged stakeholders at various levels in the project design and implementation for effective delivery and impact. The working group for Work Package 3 (Water for Food Production) component at CSIR-CRI has worked in partnership with the Lancaster University, UK to co-design and co-develop two water management technologies for rice (Alternate Wetting and Drying) and tomato (Partial Root-zone Drying) production.
A stakeholder engagement workshop was organized to culminate its research activities to aid in the achievement of comprehensive dissemination of research output and to attract feedback for future engagements. Participants in the workshops were representatives from the tomato and rice value chains and comprised researchers, farmers, extension agents, Directors of agricultural organizations, non-governmental organizations, and policymakers. Participants were taken through key results of the project. The meeting enabled the establishment of functional partnerships to promote the improved water management technologies.
