Key Areas of Research: His research interest is biased toward Plant Nematology. He has worked on white and water yams, okra, tomatoes, cowpeas, groundnuts and plantains in relation to plant parasitic nematodes management.
Yaw Danso attended Tweneboah Kodua Senoir High School (SSCE) and holds B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in General Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast and M.Sc. (Plant Breeding) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His research interest is biased toward Plant Nematology. He has worked on white and water yams, okra, tomatoes, cowpeas, groundnuts and plantains in relation to plant parasitic nematodes management either as a lead or co-investigator.
He joined the then Root and Tubers Improvement Project (RTIP) of the institute in 1999 as a Technical Assistant from the Kwadaso Agricultural College, Kumasi and has risen through the ranks to become a Research Scientist. He was affiliated to the Plant Nematology Laboratory in 2007 due to his renewed interest in the field of Nematology. He is currently pursuing a course of study leading to the award of PhD (Plant Nematology) courtesy WAAPP sponsorship tended at KNUST.
