JOB HISTORY:
Dr. Ennin has worked in the CSIR-Crops Research Institute since Graduation with BSc. (hons) in 1984 in different capacities. She is currently the Director, CSIR-Crops Research Institute. As the Director, she is in charge of the overall administration of the institute.
Over the years from 1984 , Dr. Ennin has worked in various capacities as a legume , cropping system and root and tuber agronomist both on-farm and on-station.
EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Ennin has developed 14 crop production technologies either as a team leader or as a team member and had several research farmer extension linkage activities and fora , and media intervention and publications for dissemination of technologies. She is also a referee of local and international journals and has refereed 15 journal articles. She has 89 publications consisting of 22 refereed journal publications in science listed, international and African Journals, 7 edited conference papers; 7 unedited conference papers; 4 abstracts; 8 extension/farmer handbooks and crop production guides; 4 factsheets; and 37 technical reports.
SIGNIFICANT AWARDS/ACHIEVEMENTS:
Dr. Ennin is one of 60 winners out of over 940 qualified applicants from Africa for a capacity building fellowship award from the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) programme, for a two year period, from 2008 to 2010
Her research activities on the theme ‘legumes for the development of sustainable crop production systems, increased incomes for farmers and better nutrition for all resulted in a Presidential National Award as the Best Agricultural Researcher, 1994. To date, she is the only female to win this award
She is also the first and only female Chief Research Scientist of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research of Ghana
