120 Farmers Trained On Cultivation Technologies
Over 120 rice farmers in Akatsi, Volta Region have been trained on various rice cultivation technologies. The farmers were introduced to new varieties, good agronomic practices and integrated pest management. Dr. Maxwell Asante Darko introduced the farmers to improved varieties and good agronomic practices. Drs. Kofi Frimpong-Anin and Grace Bolfrey-Arku taught pests and weed management respectively. KOPIA Ghana Center is supporting the training of farmers to apply the best rice cultivation technologies. Dr. Kim from the KOPIA center encouraged all stakeholders to play their part for Ghana to achieve rice sufficiency within a decade.
