| Value for cultivation and use | Genotype CRI-11(9)-2 is and early maturing genotype (62-64 days). It flowers from 34 to 38 days after planting. The earliness is a good adaptation strategy to drought stress. It is tolerant to most cowpea pests including Thrips, Aphids and Maruca. It is resistant/ tolerant to Cercospora Leaf spot disease and has yield potential of 3300 kg/ha. It fairly tolerant to drought and well adapted to the transition agro-ecological zone in Ghana. It is good to taste and has high market premium. |
