Mr. Kwasi Offei Bonsu attended the Presbyterian Boys Secondary, Legon and the Winneba Secondary School. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Agriculture and an M.Sc. (Crop Science) degree-both from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. He also holds a Diploma in Education from the same university.
He has varied research interests in plant breeding and genetics with emphasis in vegetable breeding. He is currently involved in the development of local landraces of vegetables like okra, African eggplant and hot chilies. He is also researching into improving the shelf life of tomato.
Mr. Offei Bonsu was a research and teaching assistant during his national service days at the Animal Science department of the School of Agriculture, University of Cape Coast from 1987 to 1989. He briefly taught Agricultural Science at the Aggrey Memorial Senior Secondary School in Cape Coast before joining the Horticulture Division of the CSIR-Crops Research Institute as a Vegetable Breeder.
Mr. K Offei Bonsu has a good number of peer reviewed publications in both local and international journals. He has travelled extensively, conducted research across Ghana and collaborated in research outside Ghana. He has participated in several national and international scientific conferences and workshops.
