Dr. (Mrs.) Priscilla Francisco Ribeiro, a research scientist with the CSIR-Crops Research Institute received the best national partner presenter award after she gave a presentation on behalf of Ghana’s Stress Tolerant Maize for Africa (STMA) team on the occasion of the annual STMA project meeting in Harare, Zimbabwe.
As the national coordinator for the STMA project, Dr. Ribeiro’s speech highlighted progress of major activities achieved by her team. The purpose of the meeting was to bring together stakeholders from target countries with a view to receive and review progress reports of projects being supported by the
International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT) and implemented under STMA.
The STMA project aims to develop improved multiple stress tolerant varieties that effectively address emerging and future production challenges.
The award was later presented to the Director of the CSIR-Crops Research Institute, Dr. Stella Ama Ennin who expressed her delight and urged the team to continue with the good work.
